Crowns and Bridges

Crowns

Just as a helmet protects our head, a crown protects and strengthens a structurally weakened tooth and restores it to its original shape and size.

Although there are several types of crowns, porcelain (tooth colored crown) are the most popular, because they resemble your natural teeth.  They are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced.   Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color or your teeth giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.

Bridges

A bridge is basically three or more crowns fused together to replace one ore more missing teeth.

The other two options to replacing missing teeth are removable partial dentures and implants.  A bridge is a great option especially in instances where the tooth in front or behind the missing teeth is also in need of a crown.
